SheffieldFederated Church is a unique church in the fact that several different denominations meet under one roof. Southern Baptist of New England, Green Mountain Baptist Association, has helped with the organization of this church for around ten years or so. Federated in the title comes from the fact that the Baptist and the Methodist of Sheffield came together and formed one body. The Baptist church on the hill in Sheffield is now only used for Old Home Sunday the second Sunday of August each year. It is a great testimony of faith to have a number of denominations able to worship together each week with little difference of opinion. God’s word is real “TRUTH” and God’s people are living this out in Sheffield.
     What is the cost of overcoming denominational differences? Some of the best Bible studies you could ever imagine. Time devoted to the study of God’s “word” and time devoted to fellowship with God’s people. We started a Sunday evening Bible study and a Wednesday evening Bible study and we now have a good core group of people that are becoming much grounded in God’s word.
      The church in Sheffield is not only unique because of its denominational agreement in the congregation. Sheffield is a very loving fellowship. I have been in Christian service for thirty years and this is by far one of the most loving congregations I have ever been privileged to worship with. We have room to improve and we have room for you please, give us a try.
      Current needs for this church are leadership in certain areas and for God to open doors in the community that are currently closed. Prayer is always needed when you pray add the “Ladies Aid” of Sheffield to your list. They do a fantastic work in this community and through the Sheffield Church.
