The Danville Summer Singers is a Community theater group established in 1978 in the town of Danville, Vt. around 10 miles west of St. Johnsbury, Vt, a very cultural area.

Dr. Hantman of Danville, Vt. loved to sing and perform when he had the opportunity, so he decided along with a few very enthuastic would be actors and singers to provide a venue for community theater in the town of Danville. The first production by DSS was the "Pirates of Penzance" performed at the Historical Danville Town Hall. Our lastest perfomance was in a local lumber building, "The Butler Did It Singing", it was a huge success. We have continued to present amature theater in a professional way for the last 20 years. The uniqueness of this theater group is in the contributions it has made within it's own community not only in the way of fine entertainment but also financially. We have a pool of talented community members in every area of the performing arts. We welcome any new members of any age gender, and race to join our group of performers. Our members age from five to eighty-five. We also welcome anyone interested in learning theater arts, as tech, costume, makeup, sound, etc. We have monthly meeting thoughout the year.

Our group is exploring the possiblity of performing more than the one summer production in the coming months, this will offer the opportunity for those who do not want to perform in a muscial to perform straight drama. You do not have to live in Danville to be a member! We have many members from outlining communities even as far as New Hampshire.
